| Obama Is Sworn In as the 44th President Barack Hussein Obama became the 44th president of the United States on Tuesday, and called on Americans to join him in confronting what he described as an economic crisis caused by greed but also “our collective failure to make hard choices.” LINK

| Not only with the economy but other issues like fuel efficiency, education, health care. The prez is so right on when he says it's up to us as everyday Americans to improve our quality of life before we can rely on the government for change. I see today that we as a society are more educated in the lives of celebrities than the own issues of our great nation. We can quote the #1 Billboard Hit word for word but can not even quote the pledge of allegence let alone the Star Spangled Banner. Our children do not understand the value of a dollar or what it takes to make just one of them. It's easy to blame the government for all our troubles but we have yet to look in the mirror and see what we can do in our everyday habbits and practices to improve our quality of life. It's more culturally acceptable for a woman to flash her breasts than her law degree, it's more culturally acceptable for a young black man to go to jail than to go to college, it's more culturally acceptable to know the meaningless than the meaningful. The change starts with all of us and then the government that is of us, for us, and by us can do their part. God Bless All of You Fine Americans. | |
