Lonestar - From There To Here Greatest Hits Music Review by YoungstownRenegade 4.94
I know, I know....a lot of people don't like country music, and to be honest....I can't figure out why....If you find the right artist, country can be one of the best genres of music of all....Lonestar is one of those artists that takes country to a completely different level....the lyrics are awesome and always tell a story, and just like the best country music, it's either gonna make you really sad or really happy....Well From There To Here is a collection of the best songs Lonestar has to offer and I have to say, while a lot of Greatest Hits albums don't deliver the true greatest hits, From There To Here does....maybe only one or two songs that should've made it didn't....From start to finish this is one hell of a country album...Tracks 14-17 are previously unreleased and are very welcome on the album...Walking In Memphis was remade beautifuly while most remakes fail, this one did not....The highlight of the album is I'm Already There (Message From Home) which is just the song I'm Already There but with clips of messages to the troops overseas from their families....If this song doesn't at least get your eyes quivering, nothing will....Amazed is the song most will recognize and may not like due to the radio overplaying it when it was released but if you put that behind you, you'll realize they had a good reason....the song is awesome....One of my personal favorites is Everything's Changed because it's about all the things you treasured and remembered growing up and when you come back to it years later, it's all gone in favor of something new...Front to back if you like country...this is a must, even if you don't like country....this is worth a try....
1. Tequila Talkin' (5) 2. No News (5) 3. Runnin' Away With My Heart (5) 4. Come Cryin' To Me (5) 5. You Walked In (5) 6. Everything's Changed (5) 7. Amazed (5) 8. Smile (5) 9. What About Now (5) 10. Tell Her (5) 11. I'm Already There (5) 12. With Me (5) 13. Not A Day Goes By (5) 14. My Front Porch Lookin' In (4) 15. I Pray (5) 16. Walking In Memphis (5) 17. I'm Already There (Message From Home) (5)
Thoughts and comments welcome......

I've got to be very honest here. Track 1 is my alltime Lonestar favorite. Love Lonestar. But this song kicks some serious ass!
Tequila Talkin'
I called about that conversation that I had with you last night It must have been a combination of shooters and neon lights And I didn't really mean to say I've been losing it since you left Yeah I may have said the words, but they came from somewhere else
It was just the tequila talkin' When I told you I'm still not over you I get a little sentimental when I've had one or two And that tear in my eye was the salt and the lime Not the memory of you walkin' If I said I'm still in love with you It was just the tequila talkin'
I don't know what they put in Cuervo that got me to say those things Usually I wouldn't care so much of make such a scene But seeing you there in that dress you were wearing Just drove me right out of my head So don't hold me responsible for anything I might've said
It was just the tequila talkin' When I told you I'm still not over you I get a little sentimental when I've had one or two And that tear in my eye was the salt and the lime Not the memory of you walkin' If I said I'm still in love with you It was just the tequila talkin'

That is one bad ass song....The song of theirs that I think should've been on the album but wasn't was Lonely Grill...I love that song....

I'll never understand the bad rap country music gets...I love it...people think I'm weird coz I like rap, country, metal, soft rock, hard rock, punk rock....you name it...I'll "PROBABLY" like it...I've always said I'm a Texan at heart....so it's perfect that our team's new name as of 2002 is the Texans.....

You wanna know what I think? Of course you do! So I'll tell you!
I think country gets a bad rap because it hits too close to people, and some people are just too "hard". I will never forget a couple of years ago, I was running the grain cart...Greg was combining. Corn. I remember the exact spot in the field that this brand new song came on. It was called "Alyssa Lies". I had to stop the tractor. If you don't feel something when you listen to country music, then you'll never like it.
