Houston Texans and Ex-Eagles running back Ryan Moats can't buy a break in Big D

As a storm of outrage gathered over his department, Dallas Police Chief David Kunkle called a news conference Thursday to apologize for the behavior of an officer who detained a distressed family outside a hospital emergency room.

Kunkle said Officer Robert Powell had been placed on paid administrative leave in connection with the incident last week, in which he stopped a family rushing to visit a dying mother, keeping them for 13 minutes to write a traffic ticket. The woman died before two of the family members were able to see her.

I watched "1/4" of the video coz I couldn't even watch the rest...my fucking blood was boiling...this cop was getting some kind of sick sex pleasure from detaining this guy knowing that his mother in law was on her death bed......I hope this guy fries in hell and I hope when a loved one of his is dying, some pig ass piece of shit won't let him get there in time....the cop only had a valid point for like 1 second...he ran the red light..no excuse, I understand but GOD DAMN!!!! Moats even told him just give me the ticket, that it was worth it to see his mother in law before she died and the "cop" actually responded something like "You sound like you need a ticket" what a power hungry pig piece of shit......I hope he loses everyone that's close to him but of course if there is a God, he sure as hell aint that just.....

Say, did you know this same guy ticketed a pregnant woman seven times because she was trying to get to the hospital to have her baby? Yeah, apparently she was asked to lift her shirt up because he wanted to make sure she was pregnant and not just lying.

And just so we are clear, Vette, I didn't post this to insult Metro, I know he is a great guy. I did this because it is centered around a guy from Youngstown's team (he used to play for mine, did Moats) and his mother-in-law died because of this. I think it is newsworthy to me.

some cops are good, some are bad, sadly the ones you hear on tv or read about on the net are the bad ones and the news exploits them.

His mother-in-law was dying anyway rather Moates got in the hospital or not. It's just unfortunate that he didn't get to say his last goodbye to her. I look at this whole thing from two sides. The stop itself....legal and warranted. The way Officer Powell conducted the stop....not so good. He could have done his job in a million different ways but he didn't and for that....Moates didn't get to say goodbye to a close family member. In regards to the pregnant woman....we have people lie to us on a daily basis so I could see him being a little suspicious. But as one of primary jobs being to ensure safety on the roadway....the better thing to do would have been to call EMS and ensure she gets to the hospital safely....after all it's two lives on the line at the bare minimum.
