| BATMAN BEGINS MOVIE REVIEW by YoungstownRenegade A+
Ok....now let me say this first....I LOVE the new Batman series....Nolan has taken over a cool series that had been ruined with the two previous installments and not only resurrected it, but turned it into something that even people who have never seen Batman can enjoy...Nolan has essentially turned Batman into the greatest Comic Book to Movie series ever....This movie tells the story of how Bruce Wayne came to be Batman and even does a much better job than Tim Burton did in the first Batman movie with Jack Nicholson...He delves deep into the origins of Batman and brings us face to face with two new villians to the Batman movie saga, Raz A Ghul (played by Liam Neeson) and Dr. Jonathin Crane, a.k.a. The Scarecrow (played by Cillian Murphy), both of these excellent choices and excellent casting for the villians as well as the rest of the cast....Christian Bale as Batman is clearly the best Batman yet, Gary Oldman as Lt. Jim Gordon is amazing, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox is awesome, and Michael Caine as Alfred is brilliant...the only weak spot is Katie Holmes as Rachael Dawes, however she turns in one good performance here.....Bruce Wayne trains with Raz A Ghul to be an invincible fighter only to learn that he is in training to join the League of Shadows, an organization hell bent on destroying Gotham City so they can rebuild it from scratch, but Bruce believes there is a better way....Upon returning to Gotham, Bruce creates his alter ego of Batman to give his enemies a reason to fear what he fears, bats...and to help rid the city of it's crime without destroying it....The only problem is Dr. Crane is pumping his fear toxin into the city's water supply so that he and Raz A Ghul can vaporize it into the air to use as a weapon against Gotham. It is up to Batman to try and get the antidote of Crane's serum into the hands of the most important people and stop Crane and Raz A Ghul from destroying Gotham...IMO Dr. Jonathin Crane/Scarecrow is the highlight of this film...Maybe it's bias towards my favorite super villian of all time or bias towards Cillian Murphy who I am a huge fan of or maybe both....but Scarecrow is the unsung hero of the movie....He does not get enough time or credit for the shit he does in this movie, and allthough Liam Neeson is brilliant, if he had not been cast as Raz A Ghul, Cillian's Scarecrow would have been the star of the movie...Cillian did for the Scarecrow what Ledger did for the Joker IMO....Brilliant casting....Brilliant movie...The Dark Knight review will follow soon....
Opinions and thoughts.....let's hear em...
