Staind - Chapter V Music Review
By RipperEagle
Rating: 4.4

Staind released Chapter V (to reflect their fifth album, including their 1997 effort “Tormented” which landed them on Atlantic Records division “Flip”) in 2005, riding the success of their single “Right Here”. The CD is the final chapter in evil spirited Staind, as the follow-up seemed to mellow them out lyrics wise. At this juncture, Aaron Lewis still hates some people, and it makes for interesting songs when they try to get personable.

1. Run Away (4)
-Good fast/slow tempo song to start the album off with.
2. Right Here (5)
-The follow single to “So Far Away” slow chorus and strong verses the norm.
3. Paper Jesus (5)
-Harkens back to “Break the Cycle” which is good: certainly hard.
4. Schizophrenic Conversations (4)
-A mid tempo piece about the issues and problems in Aaron Lewis’ head.
5. Falling (5)
-A certain carbon copy of “Yesterday” from “14 Shades of Gray”.
6. Cross to Bear (5)
-Strong song, and probably has the least lyrics of any song on the album.
7. Devil (4)
-An acoustic, bass, and drum driven number which is pretty good overall.
8. Please (5)
-Hard, biting lyrics, and strong musicianship.
9. Everything Changes (4)
-Lewis becomes more personable as he breaks out his soulfulness.
10. Take This (3)
-It’s not bad, but not that strong: sounds like filler compared to the rest.
11. King of All Excuses (5)
-Last hard hitting song they would do: another one for his absentee father.
12. Reply (4)
-Pretty good one, mostly thanking their fans for their support.

Yep. I just liked this album a bit more then their last one, so that's why I covered this one instead.
