Richard Marx- Self Title Music Review By RipperEagle Rating: 4.5
In 1987, a young artist from Chicago named Richard Marx walked into Manhattan Record Studios, a subsidiary of Capitol Records, to record his first album. Marx, previously a background singer for the likes of Lionel Ritchie, put out this ten song effort, which spawned FOUR top-20 singles and 6X platinum status. The record started off a still active 22-year and counting career for Marx.
1. Should’ve Known Better (4) -One of the big singles from the album: deals with relationship breakups. 2. Don’t Mean Nothing (5) -Another big single: deals with everyday life in Hollywood. 3. Endless Summer Nights (4) -Yep, another big single: deals with two lovers searching for more time together. 4. Lonely Heart (4) -Underrated song: deals with a man confessing his feelings for an Ex. 5. Hold on to the Night (5) -Biggest single on the CD: the true slow love song of the album. 6. Have Mercy (5) -Second rocking song on the album: deals with many subjects, including D-Day. 7. Remember Manhattan (5) -Continues the upbeat trend: deals with, well, the title of the song. 8. The Flame of Love (5) -Slows down but is very good: deals with a potential lost flame. 9. Rhythm of Life (4) -Upbeat number with an odd beginning: deals with taking life less seriously. 10. Heaven Only Knows (4) -Slower song to end the CD: deals with contemplating the future and the afterlife.
Thoughts and Opinions are welcome!

Awesome.....1 and 3 I would've bumped up to a 5 but that's pretty spot on to what I would've said....That's a bad ass album......I might actually do his Greatest Hits.....

Listening to him makes me miss the good ol' fashioned soft rock of yesteryear before it turned into the crap it is today...I miss Richard Marx....I remember he came out with an album this decade...I bought it, loved it, but can't remember or find it....
