| Trust Company - True Parallels Music Review By RipperEagle Rating: 4.1
It took nearly three years for the follow up to their debut, “The Lonely Position of Neutral” to come to light, but Trust Company followed up their radio ready debut with “True Parallels”. Released on March 22nd 2005, this time more hands were involved in the process: the opening two tracks were produced by Howard Benson and mixed by Chris Lord-Alge, two renown pop-rock radio experts, and the rest of the album was done by Don Gilmore. Would the sophomore effort from Trust Company be a carbon copy of the debut, or would they bring more tricks in their bag this time around?
1. Stronger (5) -Good opening song: was used as the WWE Backlash 2005 theme. 2. The War Is Over (3) -Just a bit overdone with synths to start and not as strong as their last radio hit. Also could have stood to end at about the 2:45 mark or so. 3. Surfacing (5) -Nice to have Gilmore back, they sound more like they did on their debut now! 4. Slave (4) -Sounds oddly like a Linkin Park song instead of their own. 5. Fold (4) -Back to that slow-fast-slow-fast formula from the debut. 6. The Reflection (4) -Rinse and repeat: hey, at least it’s enjoyable, because of it wasn’t, well… 7. Breaking Down (5) -Rocks right away from out of the gate. 8. Someone Like You (3) -It’s alright, but not their strongest on here. 9. Crossing the Line (4) -Remember the formula? Longest song on the album at 3:58. 10. Silently (4) -Nothing new here… 11. Erased (5) -Great solo guitar introduction from the back to the front opens up song. 12. Without a Trace (2) -Should have ended @ track 11: acoustic piece but not even well structured. 13. Take Me Out (5) -Untitled hidden track (is actually #41 after blank tracks from 13 to 40). | |

| Definitely good. I completely forgot that they skipped from 13 to 40 ha! I hadn't listened to that one in a LONG time. But thanks for recommending I review it, because I had forgotten about this one for a while. | |
