| Breaking Benjamin - Phobia Music Review By RipperEagle Rating: 4.1
The band first released this album, their third release for Hollywood Records, in September of 2006, but later released it a year later in 2007 with a concert from their hometown of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania at Stabler Arena. One thing about Breaking Benjamin is that they nothing if not consistent: a wealth of their songs feature the same riffs, the same lyrics, and the same monotone scream/sing from Ben Burnley. Hence, if I say nothing about a song under it when I rate them all, then there is nothing that stands out about it. Simply put, if you want a lot of songs that sound the same and seem to be ready for the radio, then this is for you!
1. Intro (N/A) -Instrumental proving to it’s name. 2. Diary of Jane (4) -First lead single from the album 3. Breath (4) -Second single from the album: reminds me of “A Perfect Circle” in some parts. 4. You (4) 5. Evil Angel (4) 6. Until The End (4) -One of only two songs that goes over four minutes on the album (4:13). 7. Dance With The Devil (5) -Co written with Sebastian Davin: one song that breaks the continuous mold. 8. Topless (4) 9. Here We Are (4) -Longest on the album at 4:19: during verses, tends to dabble in strumming bass. 10. Unknown Solider (4) 11. Had Enough (5) -My personal favorite, not sure why, but cannot stop listening to it! 12. You Fight Me (3) -Another song with Davin: not as strong as the rest. 13. Outro (N/A) -Not sure why it is called that when we have ANOTHER TRACK YET! 14. Diary of Jane “Acoustic Version” (4) -Ah yes, apparently Mr. Davin can sing on here, as he duets with Burnley.
