| Queens of the Stone Age - Era Vulgaris Music Review By RipperEagle Rating: 4.2
Released in 2007, their fifth album for Interscope, Queens of the Stone Age vary slightly in their formula from past affairs. That is, most of the songs on “Era Vulgaris” are album songs as opposed to a few splitters that could be considered radio hits (Nobody Knows and Little Sister spring to mind). On the second album without Nick Oleveri and with Troy Van Leeuwen on board (formerly of A Perfect Circle and a few others to name) the musicianship is tighter then ever before. It’s just, you know, the lyrics are totally asinine and make no sense probably because Josh Homme likes to write them while drunk or high, either or.
1. Turnin on the Screw (5) -The intro makes you feel you are in a movie theater, for real. 2. Sick, Sick, Sick (4) -Not a bad song, closest to a single this album has. 3. I’m Designer (5) -Hilarious song about prostitution and being made to sell yourself. 4. Into The Hollow (4) -At this point I kind of give up trying to figure out what he is saying. 5. Misfit Love (4) -Great intro which lasts 1:25: song is longest on here @ 5:40. 6. Battery Acid (5) -Look at the title and I think lyrics are self explanatory: music is catchy though. 7. Make It Wit Chu (4) -Closest thing to coherency on the album, and sorta-kinda ballad-like. 8. 3’s & 7’s (4) -Used on the Madden 2008 soundtrack, doesn’t make it single worthy though. 9. Suture Up Your Future (4) -Interesting slow down piece: not bad at all. 10. River in the Road (3) -Really the only weak song on here, and that’s saying something. 11. Run, Pig, Run (5) -Thrilling closer, and kept the CD from ending on a slower/obscure note. | |

| Well, that's about as good as it gets. A lot of the other stuff is out there in deep space nine. Either you are going to like the scat rock approach or not. I just happen to like it. | |

| Yeah like I said, some people like and some people don't. They say that this is what Pink Floyd would sound like if they played in this decade. I dunno about that though. | |
